Black History: Claudette Colvin

On March 2, illness 1955, unhealthy fifteen-year-old Claudette Colvin became one of the first people arrested for breaking the segregation laws on public buses in Montgomery, Alabama. As we celebrate Black History Month, we must lift up the stories of pioneering Black women like Claudette.
